n a Premier League season where the champions were crowned and the end of season relegation battle was done and dusted, fortunately the Forward Role Fantasy Football League provided some last day of the season excitement.
Long-time leader and Freshfields internal recruiter Jon Saxon was leapfrogged by an inspired last day triple captain chip used on golden boot winner and hat-trick hero Harry Kane, winning GB Group’s Gareth Stephens a meal for two at Manchester House.
Gareth was an early season leader and hasn’t been too far away from the top of the league all season. Although early FR Fantasy blogs discussed the ‘unfair’ advantage an analyst has over us mere mortals, such an inspired last day decision proves that you need plenty of instinct and a bit of luck along the way too. Well done Gareth on a great season – finishing 5119th in the world out of 4.5 million entrants and beating a record 178 Forward Role clients, customers and candidates.
Congrats also to Jon Saxon for his 2nd place and Chris Cooke (3rd) and Josh Pizzie (4th) for filling the champions league places.
For the record Brad Thomas was the highest Forward Roller in 7th and last years champion (me) was down in 22nd. Leading lady was Anna Woodward at Easyodds and last place was Co-op’s Laura Fell, who I presume hasn’t tended to her team very often considering Joe Hart was her captain choice this weekend.
Thanks everyone for participating. We’ll be back bigger and better next year!
