We are delighted at Forward Role to be nominated for the Forever Manchester ‘Employee Engagement Award’, which will be presented at the charity's Birthday Party on 8^th February 2019.

Forever Manchester raise money to help fund and support community led projects across Greater Manchester. Each year the charity support over 1,000 projects to help local people.

One of my favourite projects that Forever Manchester support is the Singing with Dementia Group. It was set up by Vi and Jane who loved a singsong when caring for their husbands. It is a wonderful time each week where sufferers and their carers can remember some of their favourite songs, sing their hearts out and forget about everything else! Over the past year, Forward Role have been embracing the importance of Wellness and helping the team find their balance. This has been a great excuse to work with a Charity and raise some money.

Here are some of my highlights from this year:

We run monthly morning Yoga classes where the donations go to Forever Manchester. The stretches came in useful when we were training for the Great Manchester 10k Run, which we completed on one of the hottest days of the year in May! Josh only just made it, before passing out on the finish line from heat stroke!

The main challenge of the year was Tough Mudder in September. The muddiest of all Mudders! We worked as a team and supported each other for the entire 10 miles and 20 obstacles. It was amazing to see everyone at all fitness levels and different abilities get to the end together! My personal favourite moment of the day was Dan announcing, “If anything, I’m too tough for this”.

Since then, we held FR Wellness Day ’18 – with yoga, health breakfasts, smoothie bike and guided meditation where all donations went to Forever Manchester.

The ‘Big Birthday Party’ will be held in February 2019 and we are honoured to be shortlisted for the ‘Employee Engagement Award’ alongside some fantastic businesses. It has been a great 2018, and we cannot wait to continue doing exciting and challenging things to raise loads more money for the amazing Forever Manchester!
