Thursday, 7 November 2019

18:00 to 21:00

Northcoders, Federation House, Federation Street, Manchester, M4 2AH

Get started with coding in a relaxed and supportive environment, with workshops led by the same people who deliver our industry-leading Developer Pathway coding bootcamp.

The Introduction to Programming course runs from 6-9pm across two evening sessions: Thursday 7th November and Tuesday 12th November.

Please note: You will need to bring your own laptop to both sessions.

Session 1

Build your own computer game! They will introduce you to your first programming concepts over some pizza, and help you tie them together to make an interactive game. Over the course of the session, you'll learn about JavaScript data types and how to write "if this... then that!" logic.

Session 2

Harness the power of your computer! They'll delve into bulk operations and some core principles that professional programmers use every single day. We'll cover objects and arrays, creating loops and even have a peek at functions...

I'm an absolute beginner. Is this for me?

Yes, but in order to get the most out of the course they highly recommend completing at least the first 20 or so lessons of this free online course before you attend. It'll only take around an hour, and we think you'll find it fun!
