Women in Tech

In this talk, Dr Mariann Hardey will discuss the place of "women in tech" and if it's immovable from masculine leadership practices. She will also talk about what are the cultural, social, personal and economic consequences of gender as a point of difference in the context of work in the tech sector.

The research was carried out at tech cities in the UK, the US and East Asia to examine the rise of entrepreneurial work and leadership, the contemporary urban setting of global tech work, and specifically women’s place in tech clusters.

Dr Mariann Hardey is a social scientist in digital information systems and tech communities with expertise in undertaking multi-stream funded interdisciplinary projects.
