Job Title: Azure Platform Engineer (Remote)

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum + fantastic benefits!

Location: Remote

Are you a hands-on Platform Engineer with a deep understanding of the Azure ecosystem looking to join a platform team working on their cloud transformation programme?

As an Azure expert, you'll work in a small team alongside developers, architects, security analysts and engineers to deliver automation, tooling, and cloud infrastructure

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage the platform's infrastructure, tools, and services to ensure it is scalable, reliable, and secure, leveraging best practices and industry standards.
  • Create and manage CI\CD deployment pipelines for the in-house developed applications and services using Microsoft DevOps.
  • Implement security controls and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Implement the platform's architecture, ensuring it meets the needs of the applications or services that run on it.
  • Develop and maintain the tools and services that make it easy for other developers to build on top of the platform.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to identify and address platform needs and requirements.
  • Continuously improve the platform by incorporating feedback from users and staying up to date with industry trends and best practices
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or bugs that arise with the platform itself or the applications that run on it.

About You

  • Proven experience in designing, deploying, and managing cloud environments in Azure.
  • Experience with container management and micro-services architectures such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure Container Services.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like BICEP and ARM Templates.
  • Experience with CI\CD methodology using DevOps pipelines.
  • In-depth automation and scripting using PowerShell and AZ CLI.
  • Knowledge of configuration management technologies using DSC.
  • Knowledge of the Azure logging and monitoring tools such as, Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, Azure App Insights.
  • Knowledge of cloud platform design patterns and best practices.
  • Knowledge of common database technologies, such as SQL Server, Azure SQL, CosmosDB and  MySQL.
  • Some knowledge of common programming languages used in modern web application development, such as C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, or PHP would be an advantage.
  • Exposure to iterative/agile development methodologies and experience of enabling team delivery through technology.
  • Ability to communicate technical designs simply and clearly in conversation, documentation and presentations to technical counterparts, and engineering teams.
  • Effective source control management with Git.
  • Any experience of AWS would be an advantage.
