Bid Manager - Hybrid

Our client is looking to recruit a strong and proven Bid Manager to help support their team in a period of extended growth.

 

The Role:

 

• To manage bids (from start to finish) across the Group to ensure they submit high-quality, innovative, winning bids

• Experienced in managing bids; able to provide strategic guidance on best-practice tendering

• Responsible for the bid management function Group-wide

• Understand the full Group proposition and is able to articulate this effectively in responses

• Develop relationships across the Group to ensure a successful, collaborative approach

• Communicate effectively with clients and prospects

• Ensure all stages of the bid process are followed and reported on (from qualification to post-bid review)

• Support the wider bid team by working on bids along with other team members

• Keep abreast of procurement legislation and other external market developments

• Identify and manage resources from other departments required to work on live tenders

• Manage virtual bid teams to ensure all inputs are delivered on time and to the correct quality

• Build and maintain strong relationships across the Group

• Identify main commercial/contractual risks in bids

• Understand the high-level commercial model for each bid and contribute to commercial solutions

• Identify process improvements which could reduce bidding costs and improve throughput

• Keep up-to-date with industry/competitor/client news to support bids

 

The Person:

 

  • Can evidence experience in a similar role – sector irrelevant
  • Strong English writing / editing skills – you will be working with subject matter experts and using their content as the basis of our tender responses as well as adapting existing content and drafting new
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel – both are used to a high degree
  • Knowledge of Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe Acrobat Pro and Microsoft Visio to add more creativity into the bid response
  • Microsoft PowerPoint use/knowledge
  • Adobe InDesign use/knowledge desirable
