CRM Manager (Direct Mail)

Working Arrangement: Hybrid (2 days office, 3 days remote)

Forward Role are working with a Luxury Travel business to recruit an experienced Direct Mail CRM Manager to join their 30 strong marketing team. As the CRM Manager for Direct Mail, you will play a key role in planning and delivering their direct mailing campaigns, with the aim of increasing repeat bookings, enquirer to booker conversion rates, and reactivating lapsed and dormant bookers.

Working collaboratively with the Email team, you will be responsible for delivering fully integrated CRM campaigns to increase customer lifetime value. You will also work closely with other departments such as product, commercial and brand teams to select the right products, propositions, brand messages, and offers to include in all mailings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop the overall CRM plan with the Head of Database Marketing and Email CRM Manager, delivering increased lifetime value of existing and prospective customers.
  • Manage and own the annual direct mailing plan for the business, recommending activity to meet commercial objectives.
  • Liaise with the product, commercial and brand teams to select the right products, propositions, brand messages, and offers to include in all mailings.
  • Work closely with the Head of Database Marketing and Insight Team to agree on the targeting for all mailing selections.
  • Set success metrics for all mailings, including ROI, conversion, and revenue.
  • Monitor, measure, and report on all direct mail activity, working closely with the external data agency and insight team.
  • Complete and submit briefs for all DM activity to the Planning Manager, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
  • Maximise campaign formats, frequency, personalisation, and creativity, working closely with the design team to evolve their direct mailing pieces.
  • Manage relationships with all external print and fulfilment houses.
  • Monitor competitor direct mail activity and make recommendations on how their marketing activity can be improved.
  • Support the Head of Database Marketing on other commercial projects and initiatives.
  • Line manage and develop one Assistant Marketing Manager.

Skills, Experience & Competencies:

  • Proven track record of delivering results through direct mailing campaigns.
  • Experience in leading the development, rollout and continuous improvement of below the line marketing campaigns.
  • Customer-focused with excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills at all levels.
  • Demonstrable drive, energy, and passion for understanding and meeting customer needs.
  • People management experience and ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Strong analytical skills and results-driven.
  • Able to perform in a fast-paced, highly commercial environment.
  • Good knowledge of print production processes.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a role that includes direct mailing.
