Are you from an Engineering/Analytics background with experience in machine learning or predictive analytics?

Our client is a leading courier business who are looking for a Head of Data to drive their data function and support them in their next period of growth.

You will be responsible for leading a data team of 3, and take ownership of the data strategy moving forward. Paying £65k depending on experience, the role is based in Bolton and offers a flexible way of working after an initial 3-month period being immersed with the business.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Owning the environments necessary for analytics (BigQuery) and visualization (Looker/Power BI).

  • Owning the ETL processes into these environments including the delivery of data to 3rd parties

  • Collaborate with the Technology team to enhance and broaden the scope and integrity of data within ETL processes.

  • Controlling capacity and cost management within agreed budget limits.

  • Supporting the broader team in enhancing their skills.

  • Creating new data tables and views.

  • Conducting data migrations into the analytics infrastructure as needed.

  • Assisting in the creation of new business processes.

  • Supporting the ongoing development of visualisation tools and reporting across the business

 

Experience: 

  • Strong technical understanding of Python

  • Technical skills including SQL coding

  • BigQuery background is preferred, but open to different warehousing technology

  • Looker and Power BI experience essential

  • ETL

  • Previous experience leading or mentoring a team
