Forward Role are on the hunt for an experienced Internal Communications Manager to join a business that provide the North West with electricity. You’ll be the centre of all communication delivery across all teams within the business, and across 15+ sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and Execute Internal Communications Strategy:
    • Shape and deliver the company's internal communications strategy, aligning it with the organization's purpose and principles.
    • Set short, medium, and long-term communication goals to drive desired outcomes.
    • Adopt a campaign-led approach to keep communications creative, engaging, and impactful.
    • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of internal communications efforts.
  2. Modernize and Optimize Internal Communications Channels:
    • Assess existing internal communications channels and adapt them to ensure all employees receive relevant information.
    • Stay updated with the latest communication technologies and implement suitable solutions to reach all colleagues effectively.
  3. Crisis Communications Management:
    • Develop a robust internal communications crisis strategy to handle IT incidents and other crisis situations.
    • Act as the point of contact for internal crisis communications, ensuring timely and accurate messaging.
  4. Employer Branding and Talent Attraction:
    • Collaborate with the recruitment team and external partners to enhance the organization's employer brand.
    • Create a compelling narrative to attract future talent and promote the organization's culture.
  5. Multimedia Content Development and Measurement:
    • Create engaging multimedia content for various internal communications channels.
    • Measure the impact of employee communications and continuously improve content and channels to boost engagement.
  6. Leadership Support and Messaging:
    • Assist senior leaders, the CEO, and executive leadership in shaping key messages and content.
    • Provide expert advice and counsel on internal communications activities.
  7. Employee Engagement and Climate Pulse Survey:
    • Lead the delivery of the climate pulse survey to determine employee feedback and sentiments.
    • Collaborate with HR business partners to respond to survey results and improve employee engagement.
  8. Manage Internal Communications Team:
    • Manage and guide the internal communications officers to create compelling content.
    • Encourage continuous improvement and support their professional development.
  9. Graphic Design and Brand Identity:
    • Oversee the in-house graphic designer to ensure the organization's brand remains fresh and recognizable.
  10. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work across the organization to understand and address internal communications requirements.
  • Collaborate with other communications functions, such as external communications and stakeholder engagement, as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing internal communications strategies in a corporate setting.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to convey complex information in plain English.
  • Experience with multimedia content creation, including video, graphics, and presentations.
  • Crisis communications management experience is a plus.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills.
  • Leadership and team management experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across different departments and levels.
  • Knowledge of modern communication technologies and tools.
  • Solutions-driven mindset and ability to tackle challenges proactively.
  • Strong understanding of employer branding and talent attraction strategies.
  • Familiarity with employee engagement survey methodologies and analysis.
  • Proficiency in using communication and collaboration software.
