Role: Lead Test Automation Engineer

Location: Fully Remote (Must be based in the UK) (No Sponsorship)

Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum

Are you looking to join a Software Delivery Team as a Lead Test Automation Engineer, where you will collaborate with talented individuals dedicated to delivering high-quality solutions?

As the Lead Test Automation Engineer, you will take ownership of developing the clients internal Test Automation Framework. You will have the opportunity to establish best practices and create automated test scripts for both internally and externally developed applications.

Leveraging Selenium and ideally Behat, you will guide and mentor a team of Test Engineers, enabling them to transition into writing automated test scripts for UI, UX, and Backoffice systems (via APIs).

Additionally, you will contribute to manual testing plans, including areas where automation is not yet in place and where a keen eye for user experience assessment is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of our internal Test Automation Framework.    
• Mentor and guide a team of Test Engineers in test automation practices.  
• Develop test automation scripts for UI/UX and API-based testing.
• Create regression test packs based on unit test scripts.  
• Collaborate with Software Engineers to ensure automated testing is integrated into build agents for seamless execution.
• Work with the business to identify areas for improvement and facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).    
• Contribute to the execution of manual test plans.

Essential Skills/Capabilities:

• Proven experience designing and implementing Test Automation Frameworks from scratch.
• Strong background in manual testing.   
• Experience with Automated Regression Testing solutions.      
• Knowledge of agile methodologies, waterfall, and hybrid approaches.      
• Back-end services test automation experience.  
• Front-end test automation experience.

Desirable Skills/Capabilities:

• Extensive experience creating Test Automation Frameworks using Selenium, ideally with Behat.  
• Expertise in delivering automated test frameworks in a CI/CD environment.   
• Automation test data creation and management.    
• Integration with build agents.      
• Performance/Load Testing experience.  
• Travel & Tourism industry experience, as well as software as a service (SaaS) environments or high-load ecommerce or transactional processing systems exposure, will be highly regarded.
