Marketing Manager

Our client is a leading B2B business who are looking at a strategic Marketing Manager to help drive their business forward. 

The Role: 

  • Create and deliver the strategic marketing plan for the Agri sector together with cross-sector initiatives
  • Be the expert and provide insight and vision for the sector
  • Drive and deliver the marketing strategy and wider business objectives – delivering annual plan and manage plan budget
  • Create engaging marketing communications and initiatives that enhance the perception of our client
  • Drive sales growth across all commercial sectors through targeted marketing activities (brand building, lead generation and industry influencing) and provide prioritised sales opportunities through customer/sector/industry analysis
  • Gain ongoing market and customer insight through analysis and performance results and develop strategic and tactical activities to support sales targets for the year and 3 year plans
  • Work closely with sales teams to develop integrated sales and marketing initiatives - customer acquisition, retention, growth and win-back
  • Research, translate and communicate industry and customer insights to internal stakeholders, and utilise to inform proposition development and sales driving campaigns
  • Collaborating with  sales teams to deliver effective sales-driving marketing initiative - create, execute, drive and measure activities across all channels (on- and off-line)
  • To lead the promotion of ancillary products and services in line with the business KPIs 
  • Set and deliver goals/KPIs for all marketing activities with evaluations and ROI to be measured and reported monthly - continual ROI and performance improvement
  • Working with sales teams, to review sales and marketing performance, including using performance data to challenge and develop strategies
  • Analysis and proposals for business growth opportunities, which would contribute to incremental profit for the business
  • Working closely across the wider Marketing team to evaluate, review and improve the effectiveness of all marketing channels and processes
  • Undertake any other activities as requested by the Head of Commercial Marketing and Marketing Director
  • Ensure effective use of IT systems, in line with the relevant Company policies and procedures
  • Align all activity to business KPIs and priorities
  • Evaluate and report ROI
  • Devise and manage the marketing budget assigned to owned sector and products
  • Influence sales teams for prioritising sales initiatives
  • Be aware of, understand and contribute to the department’s budget obligations
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the Agri sector, market value chain and competitors – having high level of customer insight and a clear understanding of market SWOT, customer needs, buying behaviour, competitors and strategic positioning; utilising all these to develop effective strategies and deliver plans for achieving competitive advantage
  • Working closely with Business Intelligence and Sales Teams to devise customer segmentation approaches for improved growth
  • Ensure that the customer requirements are met in a courteous, professional manner at all times
  • Communicate and promote “Core Values” and business objectives
  • Recognising all internal stakeholders as customers and treat accordingly
  • Be supportive, respectful, considerate, proactive and accountable
  • Recognise the role teamwork has in the Company’s success and contribute to this through displaying enthusiasm, co-operation and flexibility; treating others the way they would wish to be treated themselves
  • Responsible for own personal development
  •  Engage, build relationships with and gain buy-in from all internal stakeholders – working as one team
  • Promote a positive Health and Safety culture in line with H&S principles
  • Ensure compliance to all site rules, policies and procedures
  • Responsible for personal safety and wellbeing, that of the team, colleagues, contractors, visitors and customers within the work place

The Person: 

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a marketing or business related subject
  • 6 years marketing experience, preferably in a B2B or similar environment
  • Fully experienced with significant evidence of having developed effective customer insight and translated this into successful customer propositions and initiatives
  • Fully confident in preparing and delivering marketing and campaign activity plans
  • Commercially astute and able to demonstrate ROI
  • Evidence of having delivered effective multi-channel marketing activities, including website, SEO, PPC, EM, DM, PR, social media, business development/sales collateral, etc
  • Highly influential individual with strong stakeholder management skills, with experience of working successfully within a matrix management structure
  • Solid project management skills
  • Effective stakeholder and relationship manager with expert communications skills
  • Highly numerate with budget management experience
  • Ability to work without direct supervision and to take responsibility for driving delivery of key projects
  • Preferably holds a post graduate marketing qualification
  • Experience of working in B2B environments
