Media Manager

Manchester City Centre

Hybrid working

Forward role are working with one of the biggest and well-known names on the high-street to recruit a Media Manager responsible for being the day-to-day contact for their media planning and buying agency, managing the paid media budget and liaising directly with internal marketing teams and senior leadership team to report on the performance of all paid media.


  • Ability to manage third party agency relationships and ensure accountability against agreed performance metrics
  • Continuously look to evolve and optimise the measurement of ATL by keeping abreast of new technology and industry news
  • Undertake regular competitor analysis highlighting approaches and channel usage
  • Management of inventory using modelling and the support of internal tools
  • Maintain and manage communication and relationships with external agency working on paid media activity.
  • Drive weekly planning meetings with media agency covering reporting, budgets, planning and optimization of upcoming spend.
  • Build and manage spend budgets for media campaigns across all products.
  • Analyse campaign proposals, ensuring they are within budget and are aligned with internal KPI’s and objectives.
  • Confidently liaise with internal stakeholders to align internal creative and marketing strategies with paid media campaigns.
  • Build strong relationships with all key stakeholders across the business to ensure spend/ campaign performance meets business objectives
  • Create weekly and monthly reports suitable for board level to report on campaign activity and performance against key metrics.
  • Proactively drive campaigns forward looking for new opportunities to maximise performance
  • Work closely with Brand to ensure all activity is aligned
  • Play a significant role in the campaign planning process to ensure media content is available for all relevant business areas to maximise campaign performance

Experience and Skills:

  • Previous agency experience or experience managing and liaising with agencies directly.
  • Experience in working on customer acquisition and/or client retention campaigns.
  • Proactive approach and ability to work independently.
  • A strong understanding of all media channels with knowledge of how they operate individually or as a part of a wider campaign. (Background in TV would be advantageous).
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to communicate internally and externally with key stakeholders.
  • Experience in building and managing budgets efficiently, with a strong focus on P&L, profitability/ROI and hitting growth targets.
  • Ability to produce and understand high quality board level reports.
  • Inquisitive attitude with a drive to understand the core components of any paid media.
  • Understanding of key advertising metrics that are used for campaign measurement.
