Senior Marketing Operations Consultant

They are currently re-engineering their end-to-end marketing and sales process, improving data and governance, and adopting a new Marketing Automation to CRM platform to signal the step-change (Marketo to MS Dynamics).

They’re seeking an experienced Marketing Operations professional to support the transformation and ultimately, improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their marketing. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven, high potential individual seeking to be part of our growth story.

As the Senior Marketing Operations Executive you will work with our Marketing and SDR function to close the loop between campaign performance and marketing impact. This is a new role and function so you will bring industry best practice and work to drive adoption and governance of our lead management processes, ensuring the ongoing integrity and compliance of our data. 

You will work to ensure we develop a single source of the truth on our customers, prospects and partners in both our marketing automation platform (Marketo) and CRM – ensuring we can make data-driven decisions to support our strategy.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Marketing operations strategy and processes – in partnership with the Digital Strategy Manager, you will own marketing operations - ensuring the strategy and ways of working directly support the ambitions and needs of colleagues in marketing and align to our emerging sales operation function. You will champion good practice in marketing operations, and work to embed good practice, desired behaviours and rigour.
  • Reporting, analytics and ROI – you will play a pivotal role in driving better data-driven decisions and improved effectiveness across the marketing capability. This includes lead stage and pipeline reporting, channel and campaign dashboards in PowerBi, and Board packs that demonstrate marketing impact and ROI. You will also make data led recommendations to colleagues in marketing & SDR in order to improve campaign performance and/or lead conversions.
  • Data strategy and integrity – you will play a key role in establishing a robust data strategy and proactively work to ensure the integrity of data on an ongoing basis. Ensuring we have a single source of truth and view of prospects, customers, and partners. You will flag and address any areas of concern. You will lead on data processing and governance including all obligations under GDPR.
  • Martech stack best practice – you will ensure alignment of our martech stack to our standardised marketing and sales processes; ensuring it is tooled and maintained accordingly. You will also represent marketing ops on the CRM change board as required.
  • Working as a team and mentoring others - you will work and collaborate as part of the marketing team to deliver against overall OKRs. You will upskill and coach colleagues, as you proactively work to increase our sophistication in marketing operations and work to embed new best practice processes. You will initially manage and mentor one ops line report, but this is envisaged to increase as we continue our journey. You will build strong relationships with internal stakeholders of all levels across the business.

Minimum (essential) requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience of working in marketing operations is essential, ideally within a B2B company or SaaS environment
  • Knowledge of operations best practice and a desire to build an ops function from the ground up
  • Excellent working knowledge of CRM (ideally MS Dynamics or Salesforce), Marketing Automation (Marketo, a distinct advantage) and wider martech tools/platforms
  • Demonstrable experience in web analytics reporting (Google Analytics) and tagging (Google Tag Manager)
  • Analytical skills and experience of marketing reporting and dashboarding
  • Excellent understanding of data handling and processing for GDPR compliancy
  • Outstanding communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management skills and organisational skills
  • Track record of campaign delivery against targets (quarterly and annual)
  • Capable of managing your own workload, while operating in a highly competitive and pressurised environment and meeting deadlines in accordance with business requirements.

Desirable:                     

  • Expertise in MS PowerBi an advantage
  • Google DataStudio
  • Episerver (Optimizely) CMS
  • Marketo Certification
  • Knowledge of lead generation best practice in a SaaS environment.
  • Some technology industry experience and a good understanding of technology trends and their potential impact on current & future marketing plans.
