Are you a passionate about coding and web development? If so, this could be the perfect role for you. Forward Role are currently recruiting for an ambitious Web Developer, who has atleast 2 years' experience in Front End or Wordpress Development, to work for a multi-disciplinary brand and communications agency who have huge growth plans for 2021. 

With a passion for all things digital including designing, programming and integrating websites, you’ll be responsible for inspiring and exciting clients by truly engaging audiences through your design, programming and website integration. Your client portfolio would be on a national scale across an exciting variety of sectors, giving you the chance to work on diverse projects, where no two days will be the same.

What you can expect:

  • Building websites on the CMS including WordPress

  • Developing bespoke functionality and features

  • Integrating websites with third party services through API’s

  • Supporting with the development of bespoke digital experiences

  • Collaborating frequently with the creative and campaigns departments

  • Assisting with the planning and development of websites and bespoke web-based experiences for your client portfolio

  • Work with the wider digital team to provide regular updates and feedback

What we need from you:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Front End or WordPress Developer

  • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript/AJAX

  • Experience developing WordPress websites in a commercial setting

  • Knowledge/experience of PHP and MySQL

  • Ability to debug and solve complex technical problems

  • Good understanding of web standards and accessibility

  • The ability to improve website performance and render times

  • Ability to plan and produce well documented, semantic and clean code

  • An ability to work as part of our strong team, enhancing our culture

  • Fantastic, engaging and confident style of presenting

  • Ability to project manage, prioritise and deliver against deadlines

  • A good attention to detail and the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously

  • Knowledge of User Experience design processes

  • Interest in the latest design and technology trends

Not essential but fantastic if you have:

  • Experience with css pre-compilers (preferably sass)

  • Experience with Front End libraries (Bootstrap, jQuery, Modernizr, etc.)

  • Strong knowledge of website security techniques

  • Knowledge of SEO best practices

  • Examples of work (portfolio, code repos, etc.)
