Senior E-commerce Manager - Hybrid - Midlands

A Multi-channel retail powerhouse, with a B2B and B2C offering, is looking for a Senior Ecommerce Manager to join their growing team in 2024. Having undergone a significant digital overhaul and with huge ambitions for the year with this role playing a pivotal part of the plans, there has never been a better time to join.

You will manage a team of 9 and will manage the entire scope of the website; trading, merchandising, optimisation, feature enhancement, the user experience etc.

Responsibilities:

Website Content Delivery and Merchandising Oversight:

Responsible for delivering website content and managing merchandising activities, including site catalogue launches, hierarchy management, category/product content, on-site search management, and optimizing trolley/checkout and non-product pages.

Collaboration with Performance Marketing Team:

Work closely with the Performance Marketing team to optimize SEO activities, implement personalization initiatives, and ensure design cohesion.

Optimization of Trading Performance:

Responsible for optimizing trading performance for the website and merchandising activities. Manage the Website Merchandising team, ensuring sufficient and effective resources for plan delivery, day-to-day team activities, development, and communication.

Digital Trading Plan Oversight:

Oversee the Merchandising element of the Digital Trading Plan, ensuring it stays up-to-date and is effectively communicated across relevant parts of the business.

Tactical Trading Opportunities/Risks Management:

React to tactical trading opportunities/risks by implementing timely activities and prioritizing existing plans against these.

Reporting and Analysis Management:

Work with the Digital Analyst to manage the timely and effective delivery of reporting across Ecommerce and Merchandising activities, ensuring it drives actionable insights.

Collaboration with Senior Performance Marketing Manager:

Collaborate with the Senior Performance Marketing Manager to agree on plans for merchandising and ecommerce initiatives, ensuring timely delivery.

Key Stakeholder in Website Development:

Contribute as a key stakeholder for website development, participating in the planning of the Digital Development strategy. Specify website development needs for customer journey optimization, merchandising activity, and personalization, supporting the delivery of relevant aspects for Ecommerce activity.

Performance Reviews and Action Proposals:

Review the previous week's performance and propose/agree on actions for the upcoming week. Daily, review sales, identify areas of weakness, propose and take action to increase sales, and ensure optimal stock availability.

Skills:

Proven Merchandising Experience:

Proven experience in running the online merchandising program for a website with £100+ million revenue and a large product range.

Team Management Skills:

Successful experience in managing a team of 4 or more.

Commercial Acumen:

Possesses a commercial drive with a keen understanding of how to impact the bottom line.

Experience in Fast-Paced Growth Environments:

Experience working in a fast-paced growth environment.
