Product Developer

Liverpool

Global Activewear & Lifestyle Brand

Up to £38,000 + Benefits

Are you ready to take ownership of your work, make bold decisions, and shape the future of a performance-led brand that's making waves in the industry?

This is your chance to join a dynamic team where product is everything. We're looking for a Product Developer who thrives on responsibility, takes pride in delivering market-leading products, and is ready to treat their categories like a brand within a brand.

If you're ready to take full ownership of your work, lead with confidence, and deliver exceptional products, this is your moment. From concept to production, you'll be the driving force behind your categories, ensuring every detail is perfected and every deadline is met. If you're passionate about solving problems, making decisions, and delivering exceptional results, we want you on our team.

Benefits:

We believe in rewarding our team with more than just a competitive salary. Here’s what you can look forward to:

  • Enjoy early Friday finishes to kickstart your weekend.
  • Private medical insurance and free access to a state-of-the-art onsite gym.
  • Receive enhanced pension contributions and annual bonus opportunities.
  • 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays.
  • Access staff discount on all products.
  • Participate in quarterly social events, summer parties, and festive celebrations.
  • Enjoy seasonal perks like Easter treats, payday lunches, and an outdoor seating area for sunny days.

The Responsibilities of the Product Developer:

  • Take full accountability for product development across your categories, from concept to production, ensuring timelines, costs, and quality are met.
  • Collaborate with directors, designers, and product managers to bring ideas to life while driving improvements in fit, finish, and function.
  • Manage the critical path, ensuring tech packs are issued accurately and on time with detailed construction, fit, and trim comments.
  • Lead fit sessions, make commercial decisions, and provide clear, actionable feedback to suppliers.
  • Oversee sample management, inspecting and signing off styles from prototypes to pre-production samples.
  • Ensure consistency across the range by maintaining size charts, fit blocks, and grading standards.
  • Take control of lab dips, strike-offs, and trim approvals, making informed decisions to keep projects on track.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers through regular communication and visits.
  • Collaborate with sourcing teams to optimise costs and fabric usage without compromising quality.
  • Ensure product compliance with all relevant testing, care labelling, and legislative standards.
  • Proactively identify risks or delays, flagging them early and driving solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvements in processes, blocks, and factory efficiencies.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, leading by example.

The key skills and experience needed as the Product Developer:

  • A natural sense of ownership, accountability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Exceptional attention to detail in fit, construction, costing, and communication.
  • Strong technical knowledge of apparel, fabrics, trims, and manufacturing processes.
  • Confidence in working autonomously while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • A commercial mindset with an understanding of the impact of product decisions.
  • Organisational skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Experience working directly with suppliers and factories, both in the UK and offshore.
  • A sharp eye for quality and performance, particularly in sportswear or technical apparel (bonus).
