SOLUTIONS ENGINEER (2ND/3RD LINE) - HYBRID – LONDON
I'm working with a fast-paced MSP based in London who support 100+ clients and over 5,000 users. They're known for their exceptional service quality and strong team culture, and they're now looking for a Solutions Engineer to join their growing infrastructure team.
The Role:
You'll be providing 2nd line support with exposure to 3rd line work, acting as a key technical resource for their clients. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone from an MSP or fast-paced IT background who's ready to step up and take on more complex infrastructure challenges whilst building strong client relationships.

What you'll be doing:
- Provide 2nd line technical support verging on 3rd line to clients, both remotely and on-site
- Assist with server configuration, installation, and virtualisation (Hyper-V)
- Support enterprise backup solutions (Veeam) and help ensure data recovery processes run smoothly
- Manage client networks including DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and IP routing configurations
- Help implement cloud-based services (Microsoft 365, Google Apps, Amazon S3)
- Act as escalation point for 1st line engineers and work alongside senior team members
- Contribute to infrastructure projects such as migrations, upgrades, and server virtualisation
- Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation
- Deliver excellent customer service, building rapport with clients and managing their expectations
What you'll need:
- 3+ years' experience in IT infrastructure and support, ideally from an MSP background or working as part of a small team in a fast-paced environment
- Solid Windows Server knowledge (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, WDS)
- Experience with virtualisation technologies (Hyper-V or VMware)
- Good understanding of Veeam Backup & Replication
- Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPN, routing protocols)
- Experience with Microsoft Intune
- Excellent communication skills and natural ability to build rapport with clients
- Comfortable working at pace in a busy, multi-client environment
Nice to haves:
- Experience with cloud storage platforms
- Knowledge of MDT for OS imaging and deployments
- Familiarity with security solutions (Microsoft Defender, Sophos, Bitdefender)
- Experience managing large datasets across multiple client environments
