ROLE PURPOSE
Design, develop, and maintain SQL queries supporting Business Intelligence reporting. Collaborate closely with the Data Warehouse team and cross-functional stakeholders to build scalable solutions that support both direct reporting and self-serve analytics. Proactively gather, interpret, and analyse business requirements to enhance data visibility and reporting effectiveness. Support the migration of the existing SQL Server estate to Databricks, contributing to the modernisation of the data platform.
MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Create, amend and support SQL Server stored procedures, views, function and ad hoc queries
- Support and assist in the creation of Tableau reports
- Create, amend and support SSRS reports
- Documentation of reports and BI solutions and processes
- Test and code review work developed by colleagues as part of a collaborative team
- Migrate existing queries and reportsfrom existing estate to Databricks
EXPERIENCE
- Experience with Databricks
- Proven experience with SQL Server and T-SQL
- Experience with SSRS
- Knowledge of BI solutions - Tableau is preferable
- Experience of building and supporting reports and SQL queries in a production environment
- Experience in requirements gathering and documentation
- Kimball Dimensional Modelling
Desirable experience
- Proficient in SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services) multidimensional cubes
- Experience with Azure DevOps and Git
