Senior IT Manager | Retail & Wholesale | Infrastructure | Networks | EPOS | Hybrid | £60k–£70k
I am currently partnered with a well-established retail and wholesale business who are on the lookout for a Senior IT Manager to join their team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and taking ownership of IT operations, infrastructure, and multi-site networks.
You’ll oversee IT across offices, distribution centres, and multiple retail locations, ensuring all systems run efficiently and securely. From EPOS rollouts to system upgrades, you’ll be the person driving delivery (both hands-on and strategically). This is a high-visibility, high-impact role, with a clear path to a future Head of IT position.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage IT infrastructure, hardware, and networks across offices, distribution centres, and retail sites.
- Lead the deployment of new systems and upgrades, including EPOS and software rollouts, ensuring minimal disruption.
- Provide hands-on support for escalated IT issues and troubleshooting across multiple sites.
- Oversee day-to-day IT operations and manage relationships with external IT partners or MSPs.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small IT team, fostering collaboration and proactive problem-solving.
- Ensure compliance with relevant data protection and cybersecurity standards (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS).
- Monitor IT performance, system availability, and service levels, recommending improvements where needed.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align IT initiatives with business goals and operational requirements.
Key Requirements
- Proven hands-on IT management experience in a retail, wholesale, or multi-site environment.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks, hardware, and cloud platforms (Azure / O365).
- Experience managing small teams and coordinating with external IT vendors.
- Ability to travel to sites and provide on-the-ground support when required.
- Proactive, delivery-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, operational environment.
- Experience with EPOS, ERP, or multi-site retail systems is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritise effectively.
- Ambition to grow into a Head of IT role in the future.
Package
£60,000–£70,000 base salary
