I'm looking for a Infrastructure support engineer to join a SaaS business in Manchester for the next 3 months. The role requires 2-3 days a week on site and is inside IR35.
You will be responsible for driving end-to-end IT systems automation and acting as the final technical authority for complex issues across core infrastructure and business-critical processes. Your focus will be on eliminating manual effort through no-code automation and scripting, with particular ownership of user lifecycle management and wider systems optimisation.
You’ll work closely with teams such as People & Culture and Security to streamline workflows, remove friction, and deliver faster, more reliable processes. You’ll proactively analyse support trends, engineer automated solutions to prevent recurring issues, and ensure hardware and SaaS environments remain fully compliant. You’ll also take ownership of technical delivery for high-profile internal events and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base documenting systems and automation workflows.
With deep expertise across cloud and physical infrastructure—including identity platforms, collaboration suites, device management, and automation tooling—you’ll provide technical leadership, mentorship, and strong incident-management capability. You’ll manage vendors, lead technical projects from conception through to completion, and consistently deliver scalable, engineered improvements to the organisation’s IT ecosystem.
Experience required:
Engineering and automating cloud/on-prem infrastructure (Okta, Google Workspace, Atlassian, Zoom, Slack, Jamf, Intune).
Removing technical friction through engineered automation and scalable fixes.
Building workflows with no-code tools (N8n, Zapier, Workato) and scripting (Python, GAM).
Automating user lifecycle and managing compliance processes.
Overseeing vendors and resolving complex technical issues.
Leading incident management with strong root-cause focus.
Delivering technical projects end-to-end.
Holding relevant cloud, identity, or SaaS certifications.
